Welcome to Lubbock Texas!
A Word from our owner Cindy Mayfield.
I know moving to a new community can be exciting and challenging. As a former newcomer, I am familiar with what a new resident needs so to get going in their new city. I enjoyed the Lubbock Greeter Service for how it helped us feel the heartbeat of Lubbock when welcomed and helped us get established.
We all come from somewhere. I am a true West Texan. I was born in Amarillo and attended Amarillo and Canyon public schools. For college, I traveled 100 miles south to Lubbock to attend Texas Tech University and later back in Canyon at West Texas State University now West Texas A&M. After graduating with a BS degree in Education, I taught in the Canyon school district. I married Stan Mayfield and in 1986 moved to Lubbock for his banking career. We have two adult children. Our daughter attends Texas Tech University and our son is a graduate of Texas A&M and is employed in Dallas.
We have enjoyed raising our children in a city full of strong work ethic and good values.
I have enjoyed serving in Community Bible Study, Teen Community Bible Study, serving in the Junior League of Lubbock, and owning and directing the Lubbock Greeter Service. There are so many wonderful people to meet and work with in our city.
Lubbock has a young at heart inclusive attitude due to having three institutions of higher education: Lubbock Christian University, Texas Tech University and South Plains College. Our health is in good hands as we are on the map for having outstanding Medical facilities and physicians. Our Lubbock Symphony Orchestra is outstanding. There are many good things going on in Lubbock.
My hope for all new Lubbockites is they will plug in and no matter the age, enjoy meeting, learning and growing with us in the Hub of the South Plains.
